Christopher Rashaud Lil Chris Rogers Jr., 17, of Lufkin, Texas, was found shot to death in his driveway in the 700 block of Rowe Avenue around midnight on April 27, 2021. Authorities say the killing followed a heated exchange of words through rap songs posted to social media, including YouTube, and was tied to gang retaliation.
The Lufkin Police Department identified four suspects from a rival Nacogdoches gang: Ahman Monn Hill, Zamoria Z Davis, Daquavion Qua Kidd, and Ta’Zyion Dada Douglas. Investigators say the suspects were retaliating against Rogers and a friend over the lyrics. Ta’Zyion Douglas turned himself in and was booked into the Angelina County Jail on August 6, 2021; the other three were already in custody when warrants were served.
Police described increased drive-by shootings in Lufkin and Nacogdoches and had the Street Crimes Unit and extra officers patrolling affected areas while gathering witness statements. If anyone has information about Rogers or the events that led to his death, please share it with investigators.
