Jerrionn Burleson, a 27-year-old African American man, was shot and killed on January 9, 2021, in Round Rock, Texas. Officers responded to reports of gunshots on the 1600 block of Peachtree Valley Drive in the early morning and found Burleson deceased at the scene.

Police say Burleson and 28-year-old Gage Johnston, both residents of Austin, knew each other prior to the shooting. Johnston was arrested on January 19, 2021, and charged with capital murder; his bond was set at $1 million. Investigators treated the incident as a targeted attack but have not established a motive.

Anyone who knew Burleson, saw activity on Peachtree Valley Drive that morning, or has information about the relationship between Burleson and Johnston is asked to come forward.
