Malik Hunter, 25, of La Marque, Texas, is identified in this file as a person who died in connection with a drug deal gone wrong. The text also describes a fatal shooting on July 30, 2020, in El Paso that left Jose Carlos Olivas with a gunshot to the head; Olivas was kept on life support and died February 24, 2021. Surveillance video reportedly showed Hunter and another, unidentified shooter firing at Olivas’s vehicle.

A co-defendant who later cooperated provided detailed information, saying the shooting occurred during a drug deal inside Olivas’s vehicle; the co-defendant asked to remain anonymous. Hunter’s attorney has denied his client’s involvement and called the co-defendant’s account self-serving.

Who has information about Olivas’s movements in El Paso around late July 2020 or about the shooting itself?
