On December 12, 2020, 15-year-old Devin Massey and his 17-year-old brother Jonathan Massey were shot and killed in their driveway in Fresno, Texas. A group of masked gunmen approached the brothers’ vehicle and opened fire, killing both teens. Both boys were students at Ridge Point High School and were described as respectful and charismatic, with dreams of playing in the NFL.
The Fort Bend County Sheriff’s Office and the Gulf Coast Task Force led an extensive investigation. After months of work, four people were arrested and charged with murder and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon: Donovan Phillips, Dalan Phillips, Jaelen Allen, and Jaiden Gaines. Bonds for each suspect were set at $1 million. Authorities have not released all details about motive or the relationship between the victims and the suspects, and the investigation remains ongoing.
