Nathaniel Newell Lewis was 19 and living in Wichita Falls, Texas, when he was shot and killed in his Stone Ridge apartment on December 12, 2020. Described as a devoted son, brother and friend who loved sports and music, he had recently started working at Priddy Electric and was expecting to become a father.

Nathaniel’s mother, Jessica Barton, answered a call for help and found him fatally wounded. Wichita Falls police interviewed one person at the scene but made no arrest. A grand jury reviewed the case and in May 2021 declined to indict anyone.

Nathaniel’s family set up a Facebook group called Nate Not in Vain and a GoFundMe to help with funeral costs and the legal effort. If anyone knew Nathaniel or has information about the shooting, please share what is known with Wichita Falls police.
