Matthew Adolfo Armando Rios, a 33-year-old Hispanic man, was found dead on November 14, 2020, in the 3400 block of Rojo Street in Corpus Christi, Texas. Police say officers were called about 10 p.m. and found Rios deceased after a meeting between two groups escalated into violence.
Authorities arrested 19-year-old George Malik Henderson as a suspect in the shooting; he was captured by a U.S. Marshals-led Fugitive Task Force, taken to the Corpus Christi Police Department for questioning and charged with capital murder, held on $1 million bond. Court records also show 22-year-old Miguel A. Rodriguez was indicted for capital murder in connection with the case. Reports indicate Henderson’s capital murder charge was dismissed on February 16, 2022, and he was set to take a plea deal.
The investigation into who was responsible and the circumstances of the confrontation remains ongoing. Did anyone in Corpus Christi see or hear anything on Rojo Street the night of November 14, 2020?
