Jessie Vasquez was 20 when he was shot multiple times and killed during a physical altercation at a party on August 30, 2020. The party, attended by 20 to 30 people, was at 511 S. Akron Ave in Lamesa, Texas. Emergency responders pronounced Jessie dead at the scene after two 911 calls reported the shooting and suggested someone might be dead.

Another partygoer, 21-year-old Kevin Renteria, was shot three times and taken to University Medical Center in Lubbock; his condition later stabilized. The Lamesa Police Department says the altercation escalated into a deadly shooting. No arrests or charges have been announced and the investigation is ongoing.

Funeral services for Jessie were held at Christ the Rock Church. He is survived by parents, step-parents, siblings, grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends. Does anyone who attended the party or was in that neighborhood that night have information that could help the investigation?
