Daniel Sieger, 45, of Mission, Texas, was shot and killed on August 25, 2020, in New Braunfels, Texas. Sieger was the driver of an 18-wheeler that was later stolen and found crashed in San Antonio; his body was discovered inside the truck.
The sequence began early that morning when Sacramento Martinez, 32, of Austin, shot and killed Marisol Martinez, 33, in a black Ford Expedition parked on the shoulder of I-35 North in New Braunfels. Martinez then ran across the highway toward the TA Truck Stop, where he shot Daniel Sieger, took Sieger’s 18-wheeler, and drove off. San Antonio police later arrested Sacramento Martinez and charged him with capital murder; he was held without bond awaiting transfer to the Comal County Jail. Investigators reported that Sacramento Martinez and Marisol Martinez had been in a prior relationship and that Marisol had a protective order against him stemming from a family violence incident in March 2019.
Are there witnesses or dashcam footage from I-35 or the TA Truck Stop area that might shed more light on the timeline?
