Carlos Manuel Big Los Galvan was an 18-year-old from San Angelo who died of a gunshot wound to the stomach area on August 1, 2020. He was a 2020 graduate of Premier High School and had plans to attend UTI Technician Training School in Houston; family and friends remember him for his big heart and his love of fishing, music, and time with loved ones.

Carlos was found in an apartment on Koberlin Street and taken to Shannon Medical Center, where he was pronounced deceased. Investigators say he had been in the apartment with another man when the shooting occurred. The other man, 20-year-old Nathan Blake Gonzalez, told police he took the gun from Carlos and it accidentally fired; Gonzalez initially told officers he saw a Black man flee, but surveillance footage showed no one running from the apartment.

Gonzalez was arrested on suspicion of manslaughter and tampering with evidence, released on a $30,000 bond, and later indicted on charges related to Carlos’s death. Does anyone have information about Carlos, the apartment on Koberlin Street, or what happened that day?
