Has anyone else been reflecting on the role of first responders and how quickly things can change in an instant? The situation with Officer Ismael Z. Chavez and Officer Garza is just such a stark reminder. I read that they didn't even have the chance to draw their weapons before the unimaginable happened. It's so upsetting to think about those moments and the bravery they exhibited just by showing up. My heart goes out to their families and the entire McAllen community who have been deeply affected by this loss. It’s so hard to come to terms with how a regular day can turn into a tragedy like this. I think about how their legacy will continue through their colleagues and loved ones. It's one of those things that makes you really want to appreciate the everyday heroes we often take for granted. Anyone else have thoughts on how to best support first responders in our own communities?
