Eric Marrs, a 38-year-old man from Port Arthur, Texas, was shot on June 28, 2020, in the 3400 block of 32nd Street and died of his wounds in hospital the next day. He suffered a gunshot wound to his lower torso and was able to give police a description of his attacker before he died.

Marrs described the gunman as a Black male in his late teens to early 20s, about 5 feet 8 inches to 5 feet 9 inches tall, with no facial hair and wearing a white tank top and shorts. Police released neighborhood video showing a man believed to be connected to the shooting, nicknamed Bubba, leaving the area. The footage shows a dark-skinned man of medium build, short hair, possibly with wrist tattoos, wearing a white shirt and white shorts with oversized slide sandals.

Investigators say no motive has been determined and the Port Arthur Police Department is asking anyone with information to contact them or submit anonymous tips through Crime Stoppers or the P3 TIPS app. Did anyone in the neighborhood recognize the man seen on video or know someone called Bubba?
