Lance Everett Knight, 38, of Nacogdoches, Texas, was shot and killed on April 23, 2020. A skilled welder and machinist who ran Knight’s Hand and a devoted father, Knight was shot once in the back after a physical altercation with a 14-year-old family member outside the home. He was taken to a local hospital and died of his injuries.
The juvenile suspect initially fled into nearby woods; a search involving a helicopter, tracking dogs, and a SWAT team followed. The suspect later turned himself in at the sheriff’s office and was charged with first-degree murder. Authorities investigating the case included the Nacogdoches County Sheriff’s Office and the Texas Rangers; the juvenile’s identity has been withheld because of his age.
Knight’s family — parents, siblings, and children — have been described as deeply affected by his death. Does anyone have information about Lance, his work, or his family that could shed light on what happened that day?
