Notorious Crabtree was 16 and was shot dead on April 1, 2020, at the intersection of Westlawn Drive and Meadowbrook Lane in Texarkana, Texas. Officers responding to multiple 911 calls found him lying in the street with a gunshot wound to the chest; he was pronounced dead at the scene.

Investigators say the shooting followed an earlier physical altercation between Bosnia Taylor, 21, of Texarkana, Arkansas, and another woman. After messaging on social media that she wanted to fight again, Bosnia Taylor arrived at Meadowbrook Lane with seven other people, including her 20-year-old brother, Demarious Taylor, of Ashdown, Arkansas. Witnesses reported a fight between the two groups during which Bosnia Taylor allegedly told her brother to shoot him. Demarious Taylor then produced a pistol and fired, striking Crabtree. The group fled in two vehicles.

Both Bosnia and Demarious Taylor were arrested and charged with murder and booked into the Bi-State Jail with bond set at one million dollars each. A Bowie County grand jury later indicted the siblings; their cases were assigned to 202nd District Judge John Tidwell, and Demarious Taylor was scheduled for arraignment on June 9, 2020.
