Anwar Qasim Ali, 62, was killed on March 27, 2020, at his convenience store, Super Big Country Mart, in an unincorporated area of Tarrant County south of Fort Worth. After Ali opened the register, Turner forced him into the bathroom, made him kneel and then shot him before fleeing in Ali’s Toyota minivan.
Investigators say Turner took a black bag from the van containing more than $50,000 and used the cash on an extravagant spree that included cars, jewelry and other purchases. He was arrested in Colorado by U.S. Marshals with the alleged murder weapon on his person. At trial a Tarrant County jury sentenced Turner to death for the premeditated killing. Prosecutors described Ali as a hardworking immigrant who came to the United States pursuing the American dream and said he was killed out of greed.
If anyone knew Anwar Qasim Ali, worked at or visited Super Big Country Mart, or has information about the morning of March 27, 2020, please come forward.
