Scott Ronkartz Privat, 50, of Anahuac, Texas, was killed by a gunshot wound on March 19, 2020. Born January 24, 1970, in Rayne, Louisiana, he was described as a husband, father, grandfather and outdoorsman who enjoyed ranching, hunting and fishing.

Authorities say Scott was ambushed in the early hours of March 19 in the Double Bayou area of Chambers County. The Jefferson County Medical Examiner ruled the death a homicide, and the Chambers County Sheriff’s Office and the Texas Rangers opened a joint investigation. No arrests or suspects have been named.
