Maurice James Hood, 38, was shot and killed on February 17, 2020, in Rosharon, Texas, during an ongoing family dispute. He was visiting relatives when a days-old argument escalated into violence. According to his brother, Hood was not the intended target; he was reportedly shot twice while running away and later found lying in a ditch. Evidence markers reportedly lined the path investigators believe he ran.
The Brazoria County Sheriff’s Office said the shooting occurred around 3 p.m. and involved several persons of interest who were detained for questioning. No arrests have been made and the investigation was described as ongoing. Hood leaves behind three children; his family has said the feud involved a cousin and they are seeking justice and closure.
Does anyone who was in Rosharon that afternoon or who knew Maurice or his family have information that could help the investigation?
