Steven Sordia, 33, was found shot multiple times outside an apartment complex on Dalraida Drive and Carroll Lane in Corpus Christi on February 9, 2020. The Nueces County Medical Examiner ruled the cause of death multiple gunshot wounds and the death was classified as a homicide.

Investigators identified Juan D. Lopez has said he dropped off two people near the complex and denied knowledge of the shooting. Another person, John D. Morales, was arrested in connection with the case but has not been indicted. Both Sordia and Lopez are reported as documented gang members.
