Miguel Rhodes, 29, was shot and killed outside the Weber Square Apartments in Corpus Christi on December 29, 2019. He was outside his apartment when he encountered a man who was attempting to steal his car; an altercation followed and Rhodes was shot multiple times. He was taken to a hospital and died later that day.
The Corpus Christi Police Department identified a suspect, 19-year-old Maliek Gordon, who was arrested on February 12, 2020, at a residence in the 2700 block of S. Port and charged with murder. Another person, Khalid Runnels, was also arrested and charged in connection with the case. Rhodes’ family say he was a hardworking father of three who moved to Corpus Christi to be with his children and have urged anyone with information to come forward.
What details about that night, or about the suspect vehicle, could help move this case forward for investigators?
