George Wesley Hanks II was a 19-year-old from Baytown, Texas, who was shot and killed during a robbery on September 28, 2019, in the 5800 block of Mary Ethel Road. Born May 18, 2000, he grew up in Baytown and Dayton, graduated from Sterling High School in 2018, and was remembered by family as laid-back, comical and intelligent. He enjoyed football and playing Xbox and remained close with his siblings.

Despite efforts to save him, he did not survive. The family is publicly seeking help to identify the suspects and authorities have offered a reward for information; the investigation remains ongoing.
