Kimberly Danielle Wallace-Medford, 39, of Longview, Texas, was found dead in her driveway from gunshot wounds after police responded to a welfare check on July 28, 2019. Her family described an on-again, off-again abusive relationship with her child’s father, Kenneth Earl Thomas Jr., and said she had been trying to leave but feared reaching out for help because of threats from him. On the day she died, Wallace told a friend she was exhausted and afraid and said she couldn’t handle the situation anymore. Her family believes Thomas was determined to remain part of her life despite her attempts to distance herself.

Thomas was arrested and charged with first-degree murder. Wallace’s relatives have pushed for justice and used her case to raise awareness about domestic violence, hoping her story will encourage others in dangerous relationships to seek help.
