Erick Juill Burney, 21, was shot and killed on the afternoon of January 27, 2014, while walking westbound in the 1500 block of Montgomery Street in St. Louis Place. The shooting occurred just after 1:30 p.m. when a vehicle approached and someone inside opened fire, striking Burney in the chest and legs. Witnesses rushed him to a local hospital, but he was pronounced dead there.

Homicide detectives from the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department are handling the case. No suspects have been publicly identified and no arrests have been announced. Authorities have appealed for information that could lead to those responsible.
