Douglas Kimberly Armstrong, known as Kim, was 19 when he left his parents’ home in the 4300 block of Miranda Avenue in Palo Alto on April 1, 1975, and never returned. His family said the abrupt departure was out of character; he generally kept in touch with loved ones.

At the time he went missing he wore a long-sleeved lavender, blue, and white-striped shirt, a brown corduroy three-quarter-length coat, blue jeans and black plastic-framed eyeglasses. He graduated from Henry M. Gunn High School in 1973. Some unverified reports suggested he may have traveled to the East Coast or been imprisoned in Mexico under an assumed name, but nothing of that sort has been confirmed.

The Palo Alto Police Department is handling the investigation and the case is listed in missing persons databases such as NamUs. Does anyone have information about Douglas Armstrong’s whereabouts or recall seeing him after April 1, 1975?
