John Green, 82, also known as Frank or Francis, was last seen in Dubois, Idaho on September 1, 1973. His disappearance occurred at the same time as a house fire at his employer’s residence that fall, but the relationship between the fire and his vanishing is not documented. The employer’s identity and the cause of the fire are not available.

At the time he went missing Green was described as white, between 5 feet 6 inches and 5 feet 9 inches tall, 140–170 pounds, with brown hair and reddish-brown body hair. He was reported wearing dark wool-style pants, a red knitted sweater, a white button-up shirt with blue stripes possibly with mother of pearl buttons, suspenders, thermal underwear, and black and white socks. The disappearance was not officially reported until August 26, 1979, nearly six years later.
