Kendra S. LeDay Munchie, a 34-year-old African American woman from Beaumont, Texas, was shot and killed on December 29, 2018. Her funeral took place at Antioch Missionary Baptist Church on January 12, 2019.

Investigators say the shooting followed an argument between Kendra and her neighbor, Brian Rollins. Police reports indicate Rollins admitted his involvement during a jailhouse conversation with a detective; he was charged with murder and later sentenced to 50 years in prison. Kendra’s brothers Kendrick W. Leday, Gregory Livingston, Bobby LeDay, and Keenan Woods spoke at the trial about the family’s grief and trauma.
