Darius LeCompte was 24 and a senior Biology major at Prairie View A&M University when he was found shot to death in his pickup truck on September 5, 2018. The vehicle was located after police responded to a crash about 9:30 p.m. at University Drive and Owens Road in Prairie View, Texas. Authorities reported finding marijuana and money in the truck and have said the shooting appeared connected to a botched drug deal; witnesses saw two people fleeing and it was suspected the fatal shot came from inside the vehicle.

Family and friends strongly denied that Darius was involved in illegal activity, describing him as a prankster and a helpful person. The Texas Rangers joined the Prairie View Police Department in the investigation, but no arrests have been announced and the case remains unsolved. Does anyone from Prairie View who was there that night or who knew Darius have information that could help clarify what happened?
