Aaron Kyle McLeod was a 15-year-old student at Santa Fe High School in Santa Fe, Texas, who died on May 18, 2018, during the Santa Fe High School shooting. Born February 20, 2003, in Chico, California, he had lived in Santa Fe since 2011. Aaron enjoyed biology, history and musicals, played tennis, and liked video games; he is remembered as a bright student, a great athlete, and a beloved son, brother, grandson and friend.

The attack that took his life also killed nine other people and wounded thirteen. The shooter, 17-year-old student Dimitrios Pagourtzis, turned himself in and was charged with capital murder. The community observed a moment of silence and prayers for the victims, and survivors and witnesses later recounted the events in civil proceedings involving the shooter’s parents.
