Danny Ray Ferguson, 41, of Channelview, Texas, was shot to death after a confrontation at a Channelview truck stop on March 24, 2018. The encounter began around 3:45 a.m. when Ferguson and a friend, both on motorcycles, fought with two other individuals; the fight escalated and Ferguson was fatally shot.

The Harris County Joint Task Force led the investigation into the killing. The case drew attention in part because Ferguson was reported to have ties to the Aryan Circle gang, which investigators noted added complexity to the probe. Law enforcement continued working the case to identify and apprehend those responsible.

In a related development noted in the file, Danny Ray Ferguson Jr. was captured as a Texas 10 Most Wanted fugitive in May 2016 after turning himself in to the Harris County Joint Task Force; his record included assault, unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon, evading arrest, and terroristic threats. That arrest was not described as directly connected to the March 2018 homicide.
