Robert Joseph Pellerin III, 35, of Temple, Texas, was found dead at his workplace, O'Reilly Auto Parts, on March 14, 2018. He and 25-year-old coworker Cody Glenn Cornell were discovered in the store’s back office, bound with duct tape and shot in the head; Pellerin was shot twice in the head with a shotgun.

Investigators identified 47-year-old Theodore Dwayne Sims, a former employee of O'Reilly and NAPA Auto Parts, as the suspect. He was arrested shortly after the killings and was also charged in an aggravated assault with a deadly weapon at NAPA that same day. Sims had been fired from NAPA for stealing cash under $100 and was reported to have purchased the shotgun used in the murders on the day of the killings.
