Michael C. Simpson, 32, was found shot to death in the backyard of a vacant house in the 3000 block of Flora Avenue in Kansas City, Missouri. His body was discovered about 7:50 a.m. on Sunday, November 4, 2012, after neighbors reported hearing gunshots around 8 p.m. the previous evening but did not look outside.

Simpson was a Kansas City resident; investigators and his family say it is unclear why he was in that neighborhood the night he was killed. Police treated the death as a homicide, but no arrests or suspects had been publicly identified in the years after the shooting. The case remains unsolved and the family has no answers about what happened to him.

If anyone knew Michael, saw activity in the 3000 block of Flora Avenue on the night of November 3–4, 2012, or has information that could help, contact the Kansas City Police Department.
