Justin Lloyd Springer, 34, was shot in the abdomen during the early morning hours of January 1, 2018, at a family member’s home in Roxton, Texas. He was flown to a Dallas hospital and died of his wounds. The shooting reportedly followed a fight at the residence.
Springer worked as a commercial diver and enjoyed hunting, fishing, and playing guitar. He is survived by his parents Jeff and Danette Springer, daughter Aidyn Springer, stepdaughter Kyra Wilson, sister Madeleine Gallagher, step-brother Marc Gallagher, and other relatives. Texas Ranger Stacy McNeal and Lamar County Sheriff detectives investigated the case.
The Lamar County grand jury returned a no-bill, and no arrests were made in connection with the death. Few public details explain why the grand jury declined to indict, leaving questions about what happened that night.
Did anyone in Roxton have information about the fight or the events at the home that morning?
