Lewis Watson, 36, of Angleton, Texas, was shot to death at his home on November 7, 2017. His body was found in the kitchen pantry, covered by a plastic tarp and a trash bag. Frank E. Seidule was indicted by a grand jury for Watson’s murder and went to trial asserting self-defense, saying Watson had threatened him repeatedly and at one point pointed a shotgun at his face.

Seidule sought to introduce evidence of Watson’s prior violent acts, including an alleged 2010 assault and threats made in the week before the shooting, plus an active warrant for Watson for probation violations. The trial court excluded that evidence; Seidule was convicted of murder and the conviction and judgment were later affirmed on appeal, the court concluding the exclusion did not constitute error.

Watson’s death affected his community and family, who continue to seek justice. Does anyone have information about Watson’s activities in Angleton or the days before November 7, 2017?
