Nine-year-old Megan Gail Hill was killed on November 5, 2017, in the mass shooting at First Baptist Church in Sutherland Springs, Texas. Born August 28, 2008, in San Antonio, she was a lifetime resident of Floresville and was attending church with her family when the attack occurred.

Megan’s mother, Crystal Marie Holcombe, and two siblings, Gregory Lynn Hill and Emily Rose Hill, also died in the shooting. Devin Patrick Kelley was identified as the sole perpetrator; he had been court-martialed by the U.S. Air Force for assaulting his wife and fracturing his toddler stepson’s skull. Kelley was killed by a neighbor after fleeing the scene, so he was not taken into custody.

The shooting prompted investigations by local and federal authorities, including the FBI, ATF, and Texas Rangers, and led to lawsuits alleging the Air Force failed to report Kelley’s criminal history to the National Instant Criminal Background Check System. Does anyone who knew Megan or her family have memories to share or information that could help document her life?
