Miguel Angel Esquivel, 15, was shot and killed on October 20, 2017, at Embree Park in Garland, Texas, during an altercation between two large groups from Garland and Dallas. Esquivel was taken to Baylor Hospital in Garland, where he later died.

Litton voluntarily turned himself in, admitted to detectives that he fired the shots, and was arrested and charged with murder. He was held at the Garland Detention Center on a $500,000 bond. Investigators said Esquivel appeared to be an unintended victim rather than the intended target.

The community mourned Esquivel’s death and his funeral was held on October 28, 2017, at Kingdom Harvest COGIC in Dallas. The Garland Police Department continued to ask anyone with information to come forward. Did anyone witness the altercation at Embree Park or have information that could help clarify what happened that night?
