Anthony Rivas was 17 when he was fatally shot on November 28, 2016, in South Del Rio, Texas. He and an 18-year-old, Pedro Calvillo, were found with gunshot wounds to the head at 406 W. Martinez St. and were transported to Val Verde Regional Medical Center, where both were pronounced dead.

Police recovered a firearm at the scene but did not specify whether it was a pistol or a long gun. The bodies were sent to the Webb County Medical Examiner’s Office in Laredo for autopsies. The Del Rio Police Department described the incident as isolated and said it did not pose an ongoing danger to the community; the investigation was continuing.
