Pedro Orlando Calvillo Jr., an 18-year-old from Del Rio, Texas, died from a gunshot wound to the head on November 28, 2016. He and another teen, 17-year-old Anthony Rivas, were found with head wounds at a residence on Martinez Street and were taken to Val Verde Regional Medical Center, where both later died.

The Del Rio Police Department described the shooting as an isolated incident. A firearm was recovered at the scene, though officials did not specify whether it was a pistol or a long gun. Autopsies were performed at the Webb County Medical Examiner’s Office in Laredo, and investigators have not released additional details or named any suspects. No arrests had been announced and police said they did not believe the community was in danger.
