On October 1, 2016, DeAdrian Webster, a 15-year-old student at Pewitt High School in Naples, Texas, died of a gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead shortly after arriving at the hospital; the community held a candlelight vigil at the high school football field to honor him.
The Naples Police Department, Texas Rangers and the Morris County District Attorney’s Office investigated. On October 5, 2016, DeAdrian’s father, Kenny Arness Webster Jr., was arrested and charged with murder and aggravated assault. Authorities say he shot DeAdrian and also injured his wife during the incident. Kenny Webster Jr. was held at the Morris County Jail awaiting trial.
The case drew considerable local attention because of the family relationship between victim and suspect and because multiple agencies handled the investigation. Did anyone in the Naples area have information about DeAdrian’s last hours or the events at the home that evening?
