Brian Lee Satterfield, 41, of Bastrop, Texas, died on September 8, 2016, in a quadruple homicide at a home on Linden Road in Del Valle. Fire crews reported a house fire around 5:50 a.m., but investigators found wounds on the victims that were inconsistent with the fire. The Travis County Sheriff’s Office determined the victims, including Brian, had suffered gunshot wounds and that the fire was likely set to conceal the crime.

Authorities said the buying and selling of narcotics may have been a factor in the events leading to the killings. The other victims were David Scott Braswell, 53, of Bastrop; Matthew Aaron Barber, 26, of Del Valle; and Jacob Derr, 25, of Bastrop. No arrests have been announced and the investigation remains open.

Brian was born February 2, 1975, in Bossier City, Louisiana, and is survived by his sons Joseph and Jacob Satterfield, his brother Eric Satterfield, and his sister Kelli Campos. If anyone has information about the Del Valle house fire or the people involved, please come forward.
