Alexis Carol Johnson, 23, was fatally shot on August 26, 2016, in the 400 block of Johnston Street in Longview, Texas. Her death was one of two in a double homicide that night; Mele kia Rae Montgomery, 25, was also killed in the same attack.

Investigators arrested Jordan Malik Carter, 19 at the time, three days after the shooting. He was found in a car driven by a woman and later identified at a Longview motel. During the arrest Carter tried to flee and discarded a loaded .45 caliber handgun into a wooded area. He was charged with capital murder in connection with the two deaths.

The Longview Police Department led the investigation. The families of Alexis Johnson and Mele kia Montgomery were publicly offered condolences by the Gregg County Criminal District Attorney’s Office. If anyone knew Alexis, Mele kia, or has information about the killings, please come forward.
