Cesar Javier Sarmiento, 44, was shot and killed on July 26, 2016, in the 3300 block of Guerrero Street in Laredo, Texas. The killing took place outside a mobile home that had a surveillance system. His death was noted alongside several other homicide cases pending in Laredo at the time, underscoring a period of heightened violence in the area.
Two men, 24-year-old Esteban Yruegas and 31-year-old Pedro Vasquez, were arrested in connection with Sarmiento’s murder and charged with murder. Investigators executed a search warrant at Yruegas’ home, although he was not there when officers arrived. Reports say Yruegas later received a 10-year prison sentence as part of a plea deal, while Vasquez remained at large.
Who has information about Sarmiento, his movements that day, or the neighborhood on Guerrero Street that could help clarify what happened?
