Taylor Raymond Burford, 23, of Garland, Texas, was found dead in the parking lot of an apartment complex in the 300 block of South Barnes Drive shortly after 3:30 a.m. on July 9, 2016. Born March 7, 1993, in Dallas, he grew up in Garland, graduated from South Garland High School and attended Eastfield College. He enjoyed fishing and hunting and was a liver transplant recipient in 2007.

Garland police responded to a report of a man bleeding and located Burford at the scene. Detectives treated the death as a potential murder and called in the Dallas County Medical Examiner’s Office to determine the exact cause of death.

Anyone who knew Taylor or who has information about the early-morning hours of July 9, 2016, in the area of South Barnes Drive is asked to contact the Garland Police Department or submit an anonymous tip to Garland Crime Stoppers.
