Linda Martin, a 55-year-old woman from Southlake, Texas, was shot and killed at a busy intersection on May 31, 2016. She was sitting in her Jeep at a red light after leaving a divorce mediation meeting when her estranged husband, Kenneth Martin, approached the vehicle and shot her through the window. Linda was taken to a local hospital and pronounced dead shortly afterward.
Kenneth Martin, 53 at the time, was taken into custody at the scene and charged with murder. Prosecutors described Linda’s death as a senseless act of violence; family remembered her as an energetic, caring mother and grandmother whose loss left a profound void. The case drew attention for the public setting of the killing and the domestic circumstances that preceded it.
