Robert Lee Ramirez, a 34-year-old Hispanic man from Corpus Christi, Texas, was shot in the chest on April 11, 2016, in the middle of Van Cleve Drive on the city’s Westside. He later died of delayed medical complications from that gunshot wound on June 29, 2016. The Nueces County Medical Examiner ruled the death a homicide.
After the shooting, U.S. Marshals arrested 28-year-old Christopher Corral on suspicion of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. Corral was also charged with tampering with identification numbers and the unlawful carrying of a firearm by a felon, and his bail was set at $116,500. Those charges were eventually dismissed for insufficient evidence.
Multiple agencies, including Corpus Christi police and U.S. Marshals, were involved in the investigation. Does anyone have information about the April 11 shooting or Ramirez’s movements that day?
