Byron Pineda was 32 when he was fatally shot on January 20, 2016, at a party at the Rosemont Apartments in Harlingen, Texas. The shooting followed an altercation with 16-year-old Frank Alan Taylor, who was later charged with Pineda’s murder. Taylor told the court Pineda had been verbally aggressive and that the gun went off accidentally during the fight.
Five more people — Isis Rivera, Stephanie Lopez, Crystal Ramos, Lorraine Camero, and Albert Hernandez — were arrested on charges of failing to report a felony; they were alleged to have witnessed the shooting and not contacted police or emergency services. Prosecutors introduced photos and messages from Taylor’s phone that they said suggested premeditation and intent, while Taylor testified in his own defense denying intent.
Pineda’s family remembered him as a loving father and devoted family man. Does anyone who attended the Rosemont Apartments party or knew Byron or the people involved have information that could shed light on what happened that night?
