Javier Olmedo was a 17-year-old Hispanic male from Brownsville, Texas who was shot and killed on September 28, 2015, while in a vehicle on Expressway 83 in Donna, Texas. The shooting occurred during a high-speed car chase and involved rival gang members; Olmedo was identified as a member of the South Side Bandidos.

The incident involved Jorge Alberto Guajardo, 25, affiliated with the Tri-City Bombers, who was driving the car during the shooting. Guajardo was initially charged with murder, later withdrew a guilty plea and went to jury trial, and the jury ultimately convicted him of manslaughter, aggravated assault, and deadly conduct and sentenced him to 25 years in prison. Rolando Rene Crash Rodriguez, also a Tri-City Bombers member, pleaded guilty to murder and attempted capital murder and received a 35-year prison sentence. Rodriguez testified at trial that Guajardo discharged a firearm; Guajardo denied firing a weapon. A mistrial had been declared in June 2017 after a witness violated court orders by discussing testimony on social media.

Are there witnesses or local readers who can add details about the chase or the events leading up to the shooting?
