Jarrod Dewayne Black, 19, was found dead inside a 2004 Nissan Altima stopped in the middle of the road on the 100 block of Forestbrook Drive in Lewisville, Texas, on July 23, 2015. Witnesses saw two people flee the scene and enter nearby woods; descriptions vary between two black men or a black man and a black woman. Police say the shooting happened inside the vehicle, and investigators believed it was not a random act of violence, but no motive was released initially.

Lewisville Police conducted an extensive search, using a K9 unit, but were unable to locate the fleeing individuals that night. On August 26, 2015, authorities identified one suspect and issued a Capital Murder warrant for 19-year-old Cariea Lashae McCord, described as 5 feet, six inches tall and 130 pounds; her whereabouts were unknown then. The investigation into Jarrod Black’s killing is ongoing.

If anyone has information about Jarrod Black, the people seen fleeing that night, or Cariea McCord’s whereabouts, please come forward.
