LaTisha Ann Hutton was 20 and lived in Harker Heights, Texas. She was an aspiring athletic trainer and the mother of a young son, Jeremiah. On the morning of June 8, 2015, officers responding to a reported violent domestic assault in the 300 block of Jeff Gordon Drive found LaTisha dead of a single gunshot wound. A 9mm handgun was recovered at the scene and an autopsy was ordered.

A male suspect was taken into custody shortly after the incident but was later released pending a decision by the Bell County grand jury. The investigation was turned over to the Bell County District Attorney’s Office, which was to present the case to the grand jury; the suspect’s identity has not been disclosed publicly. The family and community are seeking answers and justice for LaTisha’s death.
