Lacie Christabelle LaRose, a 19-year-old Blinn College student from Irving, Texas, was shot and killed on May 3, 2015, at a graduation party in College Station. The party, hosted by 23-year-old Landon Duke to celebrate his upcoming graduation, had gathered people to watch the Floyd Mayweather vs. Manny Pacquiao fight. Lacie was a bystander when she was struck in the neck by a bullet and later died at College Station Medical Center.

After being told to leave, McNeil allegedly went home for a gun, returned, and fired 14 shots; he was arrested the same night and charged with murder, two counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, and deadly conduct. McNeil said he meant only to scare people and called the shooting accidental; he was held on $500,000 bail.

Lacie was known for her passion for saving animals, and her family set up a GoFundMe called Love ’em Like Lacie in her memory. Anyone who knew Lacie or has information about the shooting is asked to come forward.
