Angela Porter-Russell, 45, of Splendora, Texas, was last seen by family on the evening of December 18, 2014, a day after her daughter delivered twin girls. Her body was found near the west side of the SH 105 bypass in Cleveland, a few miles from the Russells’ Mustang Road home in Splendora. The cause of death was listed as gunshot wounds to the body.

The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office confirmed the remains were Angela’s. Investigators noted a prior 2006 call to the sheriff’s office about family violence at the Russells’ home; no disposition for that matter is listed. The Liberty County Sheriff’s Office and the Texas Rangers assisted in the investigation.

On January 24, 2015, Angela’s husband, Orville Clay Russell, 70, was arrested and charged with her murder and held on $1 million bond. He was later convicted of murder in the 253rd District Court of Liberty County on September 11, 2015. Anyone who knew Angela, the family, or has information about what happened that night is asked to come forward.
