Tuderriel Dwayne Richmond was 36 when he was found fatally shot in a ditch in front of his home on 15th Street in Port Arthur, Texas, on December 7, 2014. The Port Arthur Police Department investigated and determined Richmond was the victim of an aggravated robbery connected to the shooting.
Nearly two years later, in October 2016, police arrested two men, Scott Washington and Daniel Francis, in connection with the killing. Investigators cited forensic evidence, including DNA on a ski mask left at the scene, as part of the case. Daniel Francis was later acquitted of murder but remained in jail on the aggravated robbery charge tied to Richmond’s death.
The case drew attention for the role of forensic evidence and for the mixed legal outcomes that followed the arrests. Does anyone have information about Richmond’s life in Port Arthur or about the night of December 7, 2014?
