Margarito Pepe Keller, a 31-year-old Hispanic man from Beeville, Texas, was shot in the neck and killed on September 26, 2014. He was working on a barbecue pit in the backyard of a home in the 900 block of West Jones Street when a drive-by shooting struck him.
John Michael Campos, 32, of Beeville was convicted of deadly conduct in connection with the shooting and received the maximum sentence of 20 years in prison. Paula Jasso, the driver, took a plea deal and was sentenced to 10 years in prison in exchange for her testimony against Campos.
Keller is survived by two sons, Margarito Keller Jr. and Jordan Keller, and a daughter, Diamond Keller. The killing had a lasting effect on the family and the Beeville community.
Did anyone in the Beeville area have information about that night or about Keller’s movements in the hours before the shooting?
